Project Scope: 3 months

Client: Reise
Reise Background
People all over the world have been dreaming about time travel knowing that technology has been available for a decade. Reise, a subsidiary of Richard Branson’s Virgin empire finally got the approval to go ahead with creating an online space for time travel. Reise will offer a total of 289 destinations all over the world, up from prehistoric times through today.
Problem
Designing an ecommerce responsive website in which customers can book travel packages to different times.
Research
I wanted to explore the problem through the use of market research, user interviews, and topic research.
Topic Research
Some of the things I learned from market research was that the travel and tourism industry grew by 3.5% in 2019.
Skift’s Megatrends 2025 report predicts that leisure travel as a whole will be close to record levels in 2025
70% of travelers say they are more likely to book accommodations if they know the property is planet-friendly
Competitive Analysis
All the competitors had focused on branding throughout the site via color, font, unique features. It was important for all booking sites to show users the benefits of having membership and being a loyal customer.
Reviews and ratings of destinations helped users make decisions on where to travel next.
Clear labels of links/CTAs made the site easy to understand.
